Make sure this option is un-checked, then click "SAVE CHANGES" (bottom of screen). The top item on the right-hand side of your screen should be "Scan my library automatically". This should open a bunch of settings on the left of your screen. Click the WRENCH icon (top right) or click on your "Account Settings" (top right). Where is "Scan my library automatically" located? Open your web browser and open Plex ( ). You will need to manually scan your library when you add new files, or you can set "Scan my library periodically" to 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, etc. I know this is a nice option to have, but if you have a large library, EAC3 Audio will not transcode correctly with "Scan my library automatically" turned on (checked). Simply turning off "Scan my library automatically" fixed the problem for me. While you're at it, you may have missed that Plex finally added 2FA support a couple of months ago.After many days of research and trial & error, I finally solved the issue with Plex hanging at 33% due to EAC3 (also called Enhanced AC-3, EAC, E-AC3, E-AC-3, E-A-C-3, and EC-3.) If you have a very large library, this should fix your problem. I've usually been updating whenever I get a notification but there are also scripts out there that can do it automatically. The plex web interface will notify you of new versions, but I know some people dismiss the notification or ignore it. Also you may be missing out on some of the newer features (especially if you have plex pass) like the skip intro for TV shows. I think there may have been some other security updates over the last year as well. Apparently there's about 40k vulnerable servers out in the wild. It appears that versions prior to 1.21 can be exploited for DDOS attacks in some situations. It will give you a warning about it not being verified but it's safe to install. Click the Manual Install button within package center to upload the file and update it.
The current version available from Synology (1.) is about a year out of date. Plex Media Server rarely gets updated in the package center.
